Windows Live Writer

Well based on the tests you saw earlier, the program I am using is the Windows Live Writer. It is a free download from Microsoft here. It is a very straight-forward text editor with built-in blog uploading. I would call it "syncing" except it can't get my template from blogger, so if there is a way to put the template in manually that would be a welcome addition to the software. But apart from that it seems to be a very robust piece of software. It is easy to insert links, just a couple of clicks, and it references your Internet Explorer link history so you can just start typing and it will auto-fill the rest of the URL for you, which is nice.

Another interesting feature is on the right sidebar there is a history of recent posts that were created using live writer. Which when you click on them fetches the information from your blog. This is a nice addition to the application as well. All in all from the limited testing that I have done it seems like a great way to start a blogging application. As I use it more perhaps I will find more things to like or dislike about it and I will be sure to bring those to another post in the future until then I will be using this software to update this blog.

I love the sound of the rain in the trees. I am just sitting here on the couch surfing the web in the pouring down rain. It is soo cool to look out the window and realize that for the first time in my 25 yrs that these are our trees. Not our landlords, not my parents, Precia and Me, our trees. The sound is very soothing, more so than staring at a computer screen but what else is a geek like me going to do at 8:00 on a Thursday night. Joe came over tonight so we had brats, we were going to cook them on the grill but then it started pouring down rain, and I didn't really want to roll out the awning as it was getting windy too. So we came back inside and cooked the on the Foreman grill, just as good but not near as fun. We chatted a bit about life in general watched some movie trailers. It was fun. Now I am just waiting for Precia, she should be home soon, she had to play at Graduation today for some kids that will be singing. I hope she is having a good time. Until then, mor
I am in Denver this week, check out my flickr page for some pics. I am attending the 14th Annual IUG conference for Innovative Interfaces , this is the company that provides the software that runs the library where I work. While here I have heard a lot of talk about bringing the library into the Web 2.0 setting and have found most of it very interesting. There are a ton of great sources and good people behind this push in the IUG, it has renewed my interest in the web and development. So in that vein I am going to try again at keeping this blog rolling with a post at a bare minimum once per week. In fact I am going to schedule it into my calendar. I may even try to get a domain for it so that will be some more incentive for me to update regularly.
