It is Official

We are having a baby! In an series of events over the past week, Precia and I ended up at the Hosiptal last night so she could get an IV and get re-hydrated. Once that was started they decided that they needed to check on the baby and make sure it was doing ok. So at 10:30pm we had our first ultrasound.

It was absolutly amazing to see those images on the screen and to hear our baby's heart beat 165 bpm, right down the middle for normal at this size. We found out that we are almost exactly 9 weeks along, so hopefully only another 3 weeks of this morning sickness stuff and then it will be smooth sailing, until April 22.

We were discharged around 11:30 and made the long trip home. Precia is feeling much better today, better than she has felt since the morning sickness started. So now the goal is to stay hydrated and get through the next 3 weeks.

I love the sound of the rain in the trees. I am just sitting here on the couch surfing the web in the pouring down rain. It is soo cool to look out the window and realize that for the first time in my 25 yrs that these are our trees. Not our landlords, not my parents, Precia and Me, our trees. The sound is very soothing, more so than staring at a computer screen but what else is a geek like me going to do at 8:00 on a Thursday night. Joe came over tonight so we had brats, we were going to cook them on the grill but then it started pouring down rain, and I didn't really want to roll out the awning as it was getting windy too. So we came back inside and cooked the on the Foreman grill, just as good but not near as fun. We chatted a bit about life in general watched some movie trailers. It was fun. Now I am just waiting for Precia, she should be home soon, she had to play at Graduation today for some kids that will be singing. I hope she is having a good time. Until then, mor
I am in Denver this week, check out my flickr page for some pics. I am attending the 14th Annual IUG conference for Innovative Interfaces , this is the company that provides the software that runs the library where I work. While here I have heard a lot of talk about bringing the library into the Web 2.0 setting and have found most of it very interesting. There are a ton of great sources and good people behind this push in the IUG, it has renewed my interest in the web and development. So in that vein I am going to try again at keeping this blog rolling with a post at a bare minimum once per week. In fact I am going to schedule it into my calendar. I may even try to get a domain for it so that will be some more incentive for me to update regularly.
